Fucking Genius.

Posted by KaiserSzandor Sep. 4, 2008 @ 2:09 AM EDT

Hey guys, know what would be fucking genius? Let's fucking create a program, where we offer great education to youth and prepare them for the real world. Let's help them find a hobby and develop that into a career. Let's all work together to make their lives much easier by giving them the knowledge they need.

BUT WAIT!

We should also make it completely fucking mandatory, and on top of that, make all of the bullshit classes that nobody fucking needs or cares about REQUIRED. Oh also, promote having a good social life but at the same time fuck them over with piles of work that they're forced to do in their own time. Then lets create a system of discipline and treat them as if they're all juveniles. Because who cares what they really want, amirite? It's not about what each individual student wants to do when they finally do get into the real world.

Fuck school.

endlessnumber is a good guy, eh gets offended over the internet easily and doesn't afraid of anything

Also... endlessnumber, if you read this: Edirol Orchestral's Sax has a good tone, but the articulation is under par, and for the type of stuff you do it might not work. I don't work with soundfonts much; I'm a VST guy. Although Eve of June did use a simple Strings soundfont.

Oh and, since you think all my work sounds like crappy, low-budget film scores, I'm very interested in hearing the incredible Orchestral work you're capable of. :D

A while ago I decided to start a suite, one that I thought was original. The idea was to write individual pieces depicting all the planets in our solar system. However, prior to coming up with this idea, I had not heard of the famous composer Gustav Holst, who was indeed famous for his suite 'The Planets'. His suite included seven pieces for Orchestra, one for every planet except for Earth; It was meant to be more astronomical. It kind of angered me, because all of these awesome ideas I had (particularly naming each planet a variation of 'planet - the description') had already been done by him. Either way, I'm continuing to work on this, I'm just going to have to change up some of my ideas so to be original.

So anyway, I wrote 'Mercury - the Valiant' as the first movement in MY suite. It's not too great because it was written a while back using limited samples - bad ones, at that. The crappy turnout kinda demotivated me to continue with the suite. However, now that I have some better software, I'm excited to say that I will be continuing the suite, and even possibly remaking Mercury - the Valiant.

The title of the suite will be quite simple, although more creative than Gustav, in my opinion, haha (though granted, I am no famous composer, so he has me beat there, haha). It will be titled 'Suite of the Solar System'. It will feature themes for the seven main planets, two of the dwarfs, and the Sun as the finale.

The pieces will be in order of intensity, as opposed to order of physical placement (i.e., Mercury, Venus, Earth, and so on...). I am currently working on my musical rendition of Jupiter, so if you're interested keep an eye out for it.

On a side note, I am also working on a Piano Concerto for Traditional Orchestra. It is more traditional-esque, which is contrary to what I am normally submitting (theme type music, etc). So keep an eye out for that, as well.

Also, if you haven't read about my 'Suite de le Diablo', go ahead and read about it on my second post. Also go ahead and listen to its first movement, 'I. The River of Phlegethon'.

Check out my music here.

Suite de le Diablo - Movement one completed.

Suite de le Diablo - I. The River of Phlegethon

"The River of Phlegethon" is movement number one in a three movement piece titled "Suite de le Diablo". This suite is a musical depiction of mythical geographical locations, particular of the afterlife.

This piece is about a river in Hell called Phlegethon. 'Phlegethon' literally means 'flaming'. In greek mythology, Phlegethon is described one of five great rivers of the Underworld. Others describe it as a huge stream of Inferno that coils around the Earth, then leads back into Hell. Literary works such as "The Divine Comedy" describe it as a river of blood that boils the souls of those who committed violent acts among the living.

My goal with this piece was to express, musically, how it may feel to take a journey down this river and into the depths of Hell itself.

I. The River of Phlegethon: Listen Here!
